Paycheque Plan is made by SWITCH'N'PLUGS INC. (Ontario, Canada). This policy explains, in plain words, what happens to your information.
The web version. In a web browser, Paycheque Plan keeps your records in that browser's own storage on your device (not on any server), with no iCloud or Google backup — save a copy from Settings to keep one. Loading the web version from Cloudflare sends your internet address to Cloudflare, as any website does. Subscriptions and phone reminders are only in the app from the App Store or Google Play; on the web you can save your paydays as a calendar file instead.
Pay stubs you save, the hours you log, your jobs, bills and budget, settings, and the blacked-out photos of stubs you scanned (you choose how long photos are kept in Settings). Reminders, if you turn them on, are set by your phone itself and show no amounts (on the web, you can instead save your paydays and a weekday hours reminder as a calendar file, made on your device — your calendar app may then sync it like any event). You can save a copy of your records, or delete everything, from Settings. Deleting everything removes all of the above; the app keeps only its random fair-use code, which says nothing about you.
Backups: on iPhone, Paycheque Plan's data goes into your iCloud or computer backup like other apps' data. On Android, your records (not the photos) go into your Google backup if it's turned on; photos are kept out of the Google cloud backup but can move with a phone-to-phone transfer.
Claude AI help. If the numbers on a stub can't be read on your phone, Paycheque Plan can offer to ask Anthropic's Claude AI to read it. Only if you tap Allow:
This goes through Paycheque Plan's relay (run on Cloudflare), which passes it to Anthropic and back. The relay keeps no copy and writes no log of what you send. Anthropic uses it to answer, does not use it to train its AI, and deletes it automatically within 30 days — unless its safety systems flag it for misuse or the law requires it to keep it, in which case it may keep it longer (see Anthropic's privacy information). You can turn AI help off in Settings.
Fair-use counting. To stop abuse and keep costs fair, the relay counts how many AI requests come from each copy of the app (using a random code made on your device, not linked to you) and from each internet address (scrambled with a key that changes daily and is deleted after two days). These counts hold only numbers and expire on their own. Your 3 free scans are counted the same way, by that random code, for about 13 months, so they can't be used again. In the Paycheque Plan app from the App Store or Google Play, each AI request also carries the store's proof of your subscription (Apple's signed receipt, or Google's purchase code). It shows which Paycheque Plan plan you have, when it renews and the store's number for that purchase — not your name, email or Apple/Google account. The relay uses it only to check your subscription (Google's code is checked with Google, which issued it) and to count fair use per subscription instead of per copy of the app. It keeps no copy of it — only Google's answer, in memory for a few minutes, so the same check isn't repeated. If Apple tells the relay that a subscription was refunded or revoked, the relay keeps a yes/no mark, named by a hash of that purchase's number, for about 13 months, so the refunded purchase can't keep using AI. That notice comes from Apple, not from your app. The mark holds nothing else; the rest of Apple's notice is read only to check it and isn't kept. Cloudflare, which runs the relay, handles your internet address to deliver the request; Anthropic does not receive it. Anthropic is in the United States, and Cloudflare may route the request through its servers outside Canada, so what you send for AI help is processed outside Canada, under those countries' laws.
Subscriptions. Buying, renewing and cancelling are handled by Apple or Google. Paycheque Plan asks the store whether this phone's Apple or Google account has an active subscription; it doesn't receive your payment details.
Paycheque Plan is meant for working people. If you're under 16, ask a parent or guardian before using AI help.
We'll update this page if anything changes and show the date of the change.
