It reads your pay stub on your phone and checks it: does the math add up, and does it match the days and hours you logged? For Ontario stubs it also checks the tax, CPP and EI against the Canada Revenue Agency's payroll formulas. Other provinces get estimates from your own stubs.
No, unless you say so. Your stub is read on your phone and your records are kept on your phone (and its own iCloud or Google backup). If the phone can't read a stub, Paycheque Plan can offer to send what's left after your black boxes to Anthropic's Claude AI — it asks first, every kind of send, and you can turn AI help off in Settings. See the privacy policy.
After you take or pick the photo, Paycheque Plan suggests black boxes over things that look private. Tap a box to remove it, or drag a finger to add one. The boxes are burned into the copy Paycheque Plan keeps — the original photo isn't kept.
Tap Scan a stub, then A sample stub, to try it on a made-up stub. It's marked as a sample and never counted as your pay.
Paycheque Plan shows which part is off. Check those lines against your paper stub and fix any that were read wrong. If everything matches the paper and a difference remains, tap Share these differences to send a plain summary to your payroll office or steward. Mistakes happen and are usually fixed on the next cheque.
Scanning, checking stubs against your hours, and the budget are a yearly subscription through the App Store or Google Play, at the price shown in the app. There are two: Paycheque Plan, and Paycheque Plan + Advisor, which adds the Advisor: how much car you can afford, when you could have a down payment, the fastest way out of debt — worked out on your phone, with a plain-English explanation from Claude AI when you ask. Each starts with a free month from the store — the store asks for a payment method, and if you cancel before the free month ends you pay nothing. Seeing, editing, typing in, and saving a copy of your records stay free, always.
In your phone's subscriptions: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. Paid features stay on until the end of the year you paid for.
Your records come along in your phone's own backup or transfer. You can also tap Settings → Save a copy on the old phone and Load a copy on the new one. Restore your subscription with Restore purchases on the Plan screen.
Settings → Delete everything on this phone. Paycheque Plan has no accounts and no server copy of your records, so that removes them all. The app keeps only its random fair-use code, which says nothing about you.
Paycheque Plan reads French (Quebec) pay stubs. The app itself is in English for now.
